So this morning I was running thru the things I need to do today and mentioned to George that I have to buy some sliced cheese for Matilda's class. I explained to G that the school PTA does a community service project of feeding the hungry. They make sandwiches as a class and then someone delivers them to the dist. center. As I told him this he nodded thoughtfully. Ok, he gets it, he's in and he cares, thinks it's a good idea.
THEN I decided to read the quote at the top of the sheet to him.....it went like this: "30,000 Children in Fairfax County Go Hungry EVERY Day" He looked up at me and said "I wish you hadn't read me that."
